The Metro Richmond Zoo is located in Moseley, Virginia at 8300 Beaver Bridge Road. This zoo offers you the chance to see and pet giraffes, feed penguins, and have up close and personal encounters with just about every animal in the zoo (excluding tigers and lions). In fact, you will probably see chickens, goats, and other small animals just wandering the grounds with you! The Metro Richmond Zoo also has a Safari Sky ride that allows you to get a bird's eye view of the entire zoo. There are other rides at the zoo, too. Admission is adults $9.25, children (2-11) $7.25, children under 2 are free, and senior citizens $8.25. The zoo is open Monday-Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed on Sundays). Parking is free.

Winter prices are $5 for adults, $3 for kids and regular admission is $7.12 for adults, $4.75 for children and kids under the age of two are free. Price includes tax.
This is a non-traditional zoo located in Newport News, Virginia. This is actually a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the welfare of exotic animals. You can bring the kids here to enjoy the petting zoo filled with sheep, goats, geese and more. The exotic animal area features mountain lions, bald eagles, fox, otter, leopards and more. The price is $3 for adults and $1 for children. Children under the age of three are free. The sanctuary and zoo are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10-4:30.
