Located just a few miles from Washington, DC in Broad Run Virginia, Pearmund Cellars offers a respite from the busy nearby thoroughfares. The long driveway winds past vineyards filled with vines and visitors will feel touched by a sense of country. The vineyard consists of 25 acres of grapevines. Chris Pearmund, owner and winemaker, is renowned in Virginia and is a storehouse of wine information. Pearmund is enthusiastic about vineyards and wine production and is happy to share his knowledge. He has been involved in many ways in the wine industry and knows the industry from retail to grape growing to winemaking. Pearmund is also a consultant for several other wineries. He has been nationally certified by the American Wine Society as a wine judge. Tasting Room at Pearmund CellarsThe Pearmund Cellars tasting room offers a comfortable and relaxing experience. The combination of a wood countertop, pale yellow walls, fireplace and seating arrangements with numerous wine related giftware adds to a visitor’s delightful stop. A unique aspect is the photo album that visitors can enjoy. The album features photos visitors have given the winery. These photos feature a bottle of Pearmund Cellars wine in other areas of the world. Many countries are included in the album. Wines at Pearmund CellarsToday the winery offers visitors a tasting room with a large fireplace and numerous gift ideas. The wood tasting counter provides plenty of room for people tasting wines. White wines available include Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Late Harvest Vidal. Red wines include Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Ameritage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Pearmund Cellars EventsEvery month Pearmund Cellars offers a variety of events. Winemaker’s dinners are held in the Barrel Room offering guests a delightful ambiance. The barrel room is enhanced with Spanish chandeliers. Opportunities are available for those who are interested in blending their own wines. Other events include Share Girls Night Out with Best Friends and Relax and Thank God It's Friday (TGIF). Private wine tastings are available for as many as fifty guests. These private wine tastings can include gourmet food and will be custom designed. Pearmund Cellars Sibling WineriesIn 2006, Pearmund participated in opening The Winery at La Grange and the winery became known as Pearmund Cellars’ sister winery. In 2009, Pearmund is involved as a managing partner for the new Vint Hill Craft Winery where, for a fee, wine enthusiasts will be able to create their own barrel of wine. Vint Hill Craft Winery is the brother winery to Pearmund Cellars. Travelers to Pearmund Cellars may want to add one of these sibling wineries to their agenda.
